Portable Document Format (PDF) is a generic file format used for representing two-dimensional documents in a manner independent of the application software, hardware, and operating system. The best-known PDF implementation is Adobe PDF. PDF is next to HTML a second hypertext format that encapsulates text, fonts, images, and 2D vector graphics which compose the documents and serves for documents handling and exchange.
