biz²Scanner

The biz²Scanner realizes an intuitive integration of the scanning process into the world of SAP™. By the realization of the scanning and image processing functions in a central core component the user always works with the same effective interface in various situations. The result: No matter if it's integration into SAP™ DVS, the SAP™ ArchiveLink-Integration or external processes, the available functions for scanning, browsing, relocating pages, entering digital dividers, simple zoom functions, etc. are always identical. Due to the structured interface additional integrations like in SAP™ records management are possible just like that.

Due to the skilful integration of various working situations into SAP™ the user doesn't have to deal with file names or filing locations. Furthermore the integration into the SAP™ GUI gives the user the sure feeling that he doesn't have to leave the SAP™ environment he is used to.

Applied technologies:

• The connection is carried out via the standardized TWAIN interface, thus scanners from the smallest device class to high-end-products are supported

• As a result a file in one of the common image formats (e. g. BMP, TIF, PNG, JPEG, Image in PDF) is available

• Due to the use of the SAP™ HTTP Content Server interface the biz²Scanner is independent from the used filing system

Further special features in the individual scenarios:

• As a special feature of the DMS integration an original file (e. g. multi-page TIFF file) can be completed by new pages, respectively single pages can be in relocated in their sequence or deleted at a later point

• By the means of additional programs the biz²Scanner can also be integrated as an own menu item in the so-called "object services". This enables the user to quickly select the operation "scanning" in combination with the selection of the desired ArchiveLink document type.

• biz²Scanner can also be used for batch scanning. For this purpose the program, which is started externally, forwards the multi-page image to the additional server component biz²ScanServer. There the segmentation into the single documents by barcode or text recognition can take place for example.
